The Benefits Communications Project Manager acts as an internal communications consultant for the Benefits Team. This individual is primarily responsible for designing, developing, implementing, executing and measuring Benefits communication strategy throughout the US and Canada This individual must be able to think strategically and translate complex Benefit Plan provisions and regulations into understandable information for a varied audience. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies and develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements. In addition to communication related activities, this individual will assist with event planning (such as Benefit Fairs) and Wellness Activities and other projects as assigned.
Design, develop and execute benefit communication strategies in conjunction with current Benefit initiatives (working with the HR Communications Manager when necessary).
Effectively communicate Benefit plans and policies to associates, using a variety of different media, for Benefit initiatives, topics, and education. Responsible for upkeep of any internal or external websites to ensure information is updated in a timely manner.
Coordinate technical, legal, and stakeholder reviews to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of Communications. Assists management team to ensure department compliance with regulatory agencies.
Responsible for content development, branding, proofing and editing, production and distribution of material.
Partner with Benefits Team to ensure that information is communicated in a relevant and timely manner.
Ensure that all communications meet internally-set quality and consistency standards.
Prioritize the communication of Benefit initiatives and set end-to-end communications plans for each initiative.
Recommend cadence of communication efforts to fit within other organizational messaging and activities.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the Benefit Plans and the department's key business drivers and stakeholders.
Act as the communications coordinator for the launch of special Benefit programs and events, as needed.
Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, marketing or a related degree
5-7 years of experience in Benefits and for HR related communications
Working knowledge of social media tools
Experience in Benefits and/or HR communications preferred
Exceptional written, oral, and visual communication skills
Familiarity with a broad range of communications technologies – lnDesign preferred
Ability to effectively prepare audiovisual presentations and use graphics
Superior teamwork and collaborative skills
Ability to coordinate and manage cross-functional projects
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment
