Blank Rome LLP is currently seeking a Compensation Analyst to join their Human Resources team. This position may be based in the Firm’s Philadelphia, Washington, DC or New York office.
Duties & Accountabilities • Plans, develops, and implements the overall performance evaluation and compensation adjustment processes for staff and paralegals and administers the attorney compensation processes, including compiling the timeline, drafting necessary communications, creating, distributing and reviewing the necessary compensation spreadsheets; advising re appropriate compensation; and processing the final compensation, including preparing compensation notifications and coordinating with payroll• Administers and oversees annual evaluation processes in viDesktop• Researches and prepares compensation and market analyses for compensation administration programs, including annual merit and market adjustment and bonus processes• Evaluates position descriptions to set pay grades and identify appropriate salary ranges• Creates new positions with appropriate pay grades and ranges in HRIS (Workday)• Advises and provides salary recommendations in conjunction with hiring of new staff, paralegals and attorneys and with one-time market adjustments• Creates and runs reports from internal systems, including HR and Finance systems, to assist in analyzing compensation data and in conjunction with annual compensation processes• Compiles data and completes various salary surveys, and analyzes and interprets market salary data, trends and conditions, and stays abreast of market trends and changes• Analyzes internal salary data to identify any potential inequities based on experience, performance, location and roles• Prepares annual compensation budgets and forecasts and coordinates closely with Finance on an ongoing basis• Prepares periodic and ad hoc reports as requested and needed• Prepares effective communications and presentations using Excel, Word and PowerPoint• Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience • Bachelor degree or equivalent; SHRM or compensation certification desirable• 3 or more years of experience in compensation or related discipline, preferably in professional services environment• Knowledge of basic HR processes and core compensation principles
