Initially, you will focus your support activities on one of our business units with primary responsibility for all broad-based compensation activities within the America’s region. Within several months we will re-align into our Center Of Excellence model where you will have the opportunity to work across our various Johnson Controls divisions, and on a variety of different projects.
We are looking for a senior analyst or consultant who will thrive on the challenges of an HR team in transition. We are transforming ourselves to become a world-class HR organization supporting our Company's aggressive growth target -- and the compensation team is one of the first groups to make this leap.
We expect your activities to include:
Influencing the decision-making process by providing expert advice and innovative solutions based on solid research, strong personal experience and an understanding of the business
Advising HR Business Partners and managers on compensation decisions to ensure alignment with policy and business objectives
Helping to design, monitor and improve incentives plans from sales to manufacturing operations
Providing analytical services on topics including internal and external equity, cost of labor, pay trends, linkage of merit results to performance, etc.
Leading projects through various stages from consultation with the business to define the idea through complete implementation
Supporting annual processes for merit planning and incentive payments
Reviewing existing policies to determine continued fit with the organization and providing recommendations for updates to most effectively sustain and grow our company
Supporting management training activities to build compensation skills in our management team
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field
At least 5 years (would consider 3 years for Non-Senior version) of experience with all facets of broad-based compensation, both domestic and International experience preferred
A history of success working toward deadlines, multi-tasking and operating in an environment with rapidly shifting priorities
An ability to build partnerships with your compensation team members, HR and managers, even when they are located in other parts of the world
A strong attention to detail balanced with the ability to “see the bigger picture”
Successful experience framing and solving complex problems addressing both quantitative and qualitative aspects
Demonstrated project management skills
Exceptional skills with Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
Previous experience with large HR systems – WorkDay or PeopleSoft preferred
