Of course we need someone to lead that charge and as such we are currently recruiting for a creative, data driven payroll and benefits aficionado - otherwise known as a Payroll and Benefits Manager - to join our human resources team.
The Payroll and Benefits Manager will manage the activities of the payroll and benefits department including payroll preparation/processing, tax reporting, benefits-records administration, payroll systems maintenance and 401(k) management and administration. In this role you will be responsible for the oversight of employee benefits, the HRIS system (Ceridian DayForce) and payroll functions for employees in both the US and Canada. You will use your experience and love for all things benefits and payroll to provide a holistic, data driven viewpoint on our HR strategy to reinforce Otter’s mission, vision and values as well as to achieve our strategic objectives. You’ll also get to lead an amazing team of payroll and benefits professionals!
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead a team, strong knowledge of benefits and payroll tax compliance, be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and above all else be willing to occasionally bust a move when we have an impromptu dance party in our department. The Payroll and Benefits Manager will be located at our headquarters in Fort Collins, CO.
Lead a team to manage payroll and benefits functions including (but not limited to):
Administration and audit of payroll in compliance with payroll regulations across multiple US states
Calculation, payment and reconciliation of payroll and group tax
Administration, calculation, payment and reconciliation of all superannuation contributions
Implementation and administration of company benefits including (but not limited to): medical, dental, vision, leave of absence, disability, worker’s compensation, transit, 401(k) and employee discount programs
Maintenance of employee records
Analyze HR processes and make recommendations for improvements including the use of automation/technology
Create/update benefit and/or payroll related process documentation as necessary
Support internal reporting requirements and create ad-hoc reports when requested
HRIS oversight and point of contact for all payroll and benefit related functions
Other duties as required
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. Experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
Minimum five years of experience with a combination of payroll and benefits including the research and design of health and welfare benefit plan offerings and payroll tax compliance required.
Minimum one year in a mentor, leader, supervisor or manager role is required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
Ceridian DayForce experience preferred.
