Position Title: HR Director of Compensation & Performance Management
Location: Chicago, IL or New York, NY
Reports to: Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer
Specific responsibilities include:
Under direction from the CHRO, lead, direct and manage total compensation program design globally across all service lines (Executive Search, Culture Shaping and Leadership Consulting) and Corporate to ensure we are following and implementing a “best in class” approach to global compensation.
Develop, implement and direct performance management strategies that support organization goals and objectives.
Act as a senior consultant to HR business partners on compensation topics and performance management business process.
Manage and rollout compensation and performance management business processes from end to end.
Lead and design the year-end compensation review process – ensuring merit and bonus guidelines are followed and implemented. Create and implement relevant compensation statements/memos/support materials.
Lead and design the annual performance management process including relevant performance evaluations, 360 reviews, calibration process and applicable support materials.
Ensure pay is competitive via ongoing benchmarking.
Oversee compensation surveys and other competitive practice surveys.
Assist with preparing materials for the Human Resources Compensation Committee.
Oversee aspects of executive compensation design.
Oversee Equity Incentive Program including leading new share approval process.
Manage data and content required for annual Proxy and other SEC required reporting requirements.
Ensure compensation processes are well-documented and adhered to; ensure clear data globally and provide for ongoing key reports across the business.
Ensure plans and proposals meet current federal, state and city regulations by subscribing to and maintaining an expert knowledge level about changes or revisions.
Oversee Workday implementation and enhancements for compensation and performance management modules.
Partner with Finance team on incentive calculation and accrual reporting.
Minimum of ten years of progressive experience in Human Resources with at least five years in a compensation leadership role. Global experience strongly preferred. Experience in professional services preferred.
Strong project management experience with knowledge of full project life cycle, including business process design, documentation, execution and change management.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-performing, and client focused environment. Comfortable working in a highly matrixed organization.
Experience serving as a consultant/advisor in analyzing client needs; setting and managing expectations and influencing decisions.
Strong ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems, analyze data and translate into recommendations and presentations.
Proven experience in providing highest levels of client service internally or externally.
Understanding, inclination toward, and strong appreciation of the importance of building trust-based relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong comfort level with shifting priorities.
Dedication to teamwork and collaboration with experience in coaching and developing others.
Demonstrated detail-orientation, multitasking and effective project management skills.
