The Senior Director Executive Compensation is a member of the senior HR leadership team for SPX, reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer. This strategic position is responsible for the development, implementation, communication, support and administration of SPX’s global compensation and recognition programs that will enable the company to attract, reward, and retain top talent. Works close with the CHRO to manage executive compensation and will include interaction with the executive leadership team of SPX and the Board of Directors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Compensation/Equity Plan Management:
Create Board of Director materials and attend Compensation Committee meetings.
Work with Assistant General Counsel in creating and publishing annual proxy materials, including Compensation Discussion and Analysis (CD&A).
Design and manage all elements of executive compensation, including cash and equity programs, ensuring integration and alignment of executive pay with overall company goals and objectives.
General - Compensation:
Responsible for the continued development, coordination and communication of compensation programs; Recommend modifications to maintain the organization’s objectives and competitive position in the marketplace.
Partner with HR Leadership to coordinate Total Rewards alignment to performance management approach, career models, and high potential programs.
Responsible for the annual salary increase/merit program and promotion.
Design employee level job classification, grading structure, job analysis and evaluation methodology, including market pricing, internal equity review, and pay mix.
Oversee the final incentive award recommendation process to assure alignment with performance, adherence to budgets, and compliance with approvals.
Prepare annual Compensation budget, quarterly forecasts, and work with Executive and Compensation teams on recommendations and allocations.
Monitor the effectiveness of the compensation programs, processes and practices, and recommend revisions to ensure equitable and competitive programs.
Conduct analysis of jobs, salaries, variable pay and other rewards in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the pay practices
Lead Corporate compensation team, provide direction and develop skillsets of team.
Experience in compensation program design, management and administration (Grading structures, STI, LTI, etc.)
10+ years of progressively responsible experience; A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role; minimum of five in executive compensation
At least 3 years of supervision experience
Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or other related field – MBA or advanced degree preferred
