At COUNTRY Financial, our Director, Total Rewards directs and controls the activities of Total Rewards through department managers for COUNTRY Financial and Illinois Farm Bureau. Total Rewards includes Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Payroll and HR Service Center functions. Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company compensation and benefits programs and payroll function. Guides the establishment and ongoing administration of Human Resources Information Systems to support short- and long-range Human Resources goals. Monitors and evaluates a centralized human resources services spanning payroll, benefits, and other departments within HR. Ensures the efficiency of all Total Rewards programs, operations, technology, and transaction processes. Participates in strategic and budget planning. Ensures that Total Rewards annual and long term goals align with the HR and Corporate annual and long term goals. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Leads the development of salary structures and salary budgets, and prepares policies and procedures to insure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation. May be responsible for incentive and bonus plan design and administration.
Monitors and evaluates the companies benefits programs including: insurance programs, retirement plans, sick leave, time off and vacation policies, and health and financial wellness programs. Ensures programs are current with regard to trends, practices and costs. Negotiates coverage services and costs with carriers.
Oversees the specification, development and implementation of new or redesigned systems, reports, engagement survey and policies and procedures for internal use.
Manages relationships with software and hardware vendors and ensures the development of proper training and documentation for system use and maintenance.
Ensures the generation of the company payroll, including labor distribution records, PTO accrual, overtime and withholding status. Meets all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions.
Establishes standards and procedures for handling employee questions, transactions, and administration of human resources programs. Coordinates services with the human resources information systems, human resource program managers and technology experts.
Directs and oversees the design, development and implementation of: - human resources policies, programs and services. - corporate employee compensation program, including base salary and, as applicable, incentive pay or non-monetary reward practices, job design, and compensation consulting. Manages program enhancements, research, communications (including Passport content), and external service providers. - group insurance programs for all employee groups. Specific programs include (but are not limited to) group medical, life, disability, vision and dental. - defined benefit and defined contribution programs for all employee groups. - employee communication, education, and consulting related to corporate compensation and payroll systems. - work-life balance programs. - financial security awareness and education programs. - HRIS supporting the organization and the HR function, reporting and analysis. - HRSC including HR call center, and processing and transactional work. - Payroll processing and compliance.
Oversees HR benefit, policy and employment related communications, ensuring appropriate messages are conveyed to all audiences.
Directs activities related to executive compensation program, including work with third parties. Directs the administration of all corporate incentive plans.
Serves as a resource to the benefit plan administrative committees, working through them to obtain approvals for design and plan changes.
Manages the implementation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans and activities in assigned areas. Maintains current contact information for all employees in applicable areas and communicates with non-recovery employees during a disaster.

Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of total rewards, finance, human resources or related experience OR,
Master’s degree and at least 5 years of total rewards, finance, human resources or related experience
At least 6 years of management experience
Appropriate Compensation and Benefits certifications such as WorldatWork or CEBS.
Normal office environment.
Work may extend beyond normal business hours as business needs dictate.
