The Sr. Compensation Consultant role is a client-facing position responsible for managing compensation programs in support of multiple business units. Incumbent serves as the subject matter expert to the HR Business Partners, leadership team, recruiters and line managers on compensation topics. The Consultant develops solutions and action plans against global and local strategies for base, incentive, reward and recognition programs and partners with fellow Compensation peers in the Compensation Center of Expertise (COE) Enterprise/Architecture arena as well as HR Operations to executive against the strategies and action plans.
Strategic Compensation Partner:
Develop a deep understanding of the business unit including the business model and strategy, talent objectives and compensation practices for the jobs in the business.
Provide leadership and consultations with client groups by developing solutions and action plans against global and local strategies for base, incentive, reward and recognition programs.
Drive the implementation of compensation programs within the assigned business units. Ensures the BU strategic and operational initiatives are aligned with the Company’s Compensation philosophy and strategy.
Train HR leaders and managers on existing pay programs and the use of related software tools.
Deliver program content to client groups, via web-ex training solutions and staff meetings to educate HRBPs and Business leaders on program content, strategies and charts of authority.
Deliver the annual compensation review process through consultations with businesses and HRBPs – by providing guidance to the HRBPs and line managers as needed to ensure the accurate, timely and seamless execution of these initiatives.
Provide recommendations and input to Compensation leaders in regards to the Company’s enterprise wide global/local compensation plans, programs and processes such as the base pay, annual and long term equity as well as reward/recognition. Provide recommendations on harmonization of plans, integration or slotting of plans; including design alternatives if new plans are needed.
Proactively stay abreast of Industry and geographic market trends that may have an impact on the Company’s ability to attract and retain talent; partnering with HRBPs, the Consultant conducts market research, monitors compensation.
Advise HRBPs and business leaders on the companies chart of authority/delegation of authority matters in accordance with compensation guidelines, policies and practices to optimize how compensation tools can support the talent objectives of their business.
Protect employer liabilities via Equal Pay Act, Civil Rights Act while reviewing - review exceptions submitted by business leaders and respond with review and approvals, or, declines.
Provide job matches and mapping against existing job descriptions and surveys to ensure proper leveling of jobs in the new Career Framework environment.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
6+ years’ experience in all aspects of analysis and management of broad-based employee compensation programs at a company of comparable size and complexity.
Education / Training:
Required: Bachelor’s degree
Preferred: Master’s degree and/or CCP
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Experience with publicly traded company preferred
International Compensation experience preferred.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong Influencing skills • Ability to build credibility and trust with all levels within the organization
