Senior Director, Compensation Market Intelligence and Operations
In this role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s compensation operations and market intelligence areas. You will be responsible for managing the development and administration of job descriptions, job evaluations, and salary surveys as well as preparing policies and procedures to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation. You will also work with line management and executive leadership to assess competitive labor market trends and maintain a working knowledge of federal and state legislation and labor contracts that may affect compensation policies. In addition, you will be responsible for compensation market intelligence and operations on a national level while also selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
Directing subordinate manager(s) or functional compensation leads/experts; recruiting, selecting, developing, training, and managing compensation staff; may have direct reports responsible for multiple functional areas
Leading compensation operations nationally; developing compensation policies nationally
Serving as part of the national compensation leaders group
Influencing and guiding Kaiser Permanente's total rewards strategy
Ensuring that Kaiser Permanente's compensation is competitive to market, directing the market intelligence function
Contributing to National and/or Inter-Regional Labor Management Partnership initiatives and partnering with labor relations function
Serving as an expert resource for the organization for compensation related issues
Representing compensation on complex inter-departmental/cross-regional projects and SME (Subject Matter Expert) task forces
Serving as a formal point of contact and final authority/compensation representative for external audits/inquiries
Leading all compensation compliance activities
Being accountable for budget development and management.
At least ten years of compensation or human resources experience to include salary administration
At least eight years of leadership or management experience
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, a related field, or four years of experience in a directly related field
Demonstrated leadership experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives across a very large, decentralized organization
Expert knowledge of compensation and advanced knowledge of multiple related functions
The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Preferred Qualifications Include:
At least twelve years of compensation experience to include salary administration
At least ten years of leadership or management experience
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)
A master’s degree in human resources, business, or a directly related field
