As part of the team, you will provide compensation counsel to HR Business Partners and line managers in a consultative manner to resolve a variety of compensation related issues. Provide comprehensive analysis, review and recommendations across a broad spectrum of compensation policies and programs. Collaborate in the design, implementation, communication and administration of legally compliant, compensation strategies and programs that effectively attract, retain and motivate talent to achieve AMA’s goals and strategies. Expand use of HR Analytics, evaluate leading-edge compensation trends and recommend implementation of those that benefit the AMA.
Other Responsibilities will include:
Participate in compensation design & administration of the salary structure, job evaluation process predicated on market pricing, job descriptions, salary administration guidelines, and annual merit and incentive process. Make recommendations for enhancements or improvements.
Collaborate within HR and with management across the organization to provide proactive and/or timely counsel and analysis on a wide range of compensation related issues. Expand the use of HR Analytics to enhance our visibility into changing trends in external and internal work force demographics to inform and highlight the applicability of leading edge compensation trends for the AMA.
As a member of a cross functional team, consisting of finance and sales management, design and implement annual Sales Incentive and/or Commission Plan to offer a competitive total compensation package that incents sales staff with a plan design that is quantifiable, easy to communicate, administer & protects the AMA.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits with demonstrated experience in designing sales incentive and/or commission plans, evaluating and administering compensation programs, HR Analytics and vendor evaluation.
Comprehensive knowledge of human resources principles and laws.
Demonstrated P&L understanding and or financial background.
Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical skills and change management skills with a focused attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems through innovative solutions, practical judgment, experience & common sense.
Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative style to interact within HR as well as business unit managers and executives, including C-suite and external experts.
Demonstrated skill in influencing leaders, including persuading or convincing others to support an idea, agenda or direction.
Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply best practices and leading trends in compensation & performance management to recommend creative solutions.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills with solid presentation experience.
Demonstrated ability to respond to requests and deliver results in a fast-paced complex environment along with excellent planning and execution skills.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Expert Excel skills and proficiency in working with Microsoft suite of products and HRIS system.
Exposure to or experience in preparing or presenting to C-Suite or Board materials preferred.
Exposure to or experience as a generalist/business partner preferred.
Exposure to or experience in acquisitions and divestitures from an HR perspective preferred.
