The Director, Total Rewards is responsible for the planning, development, communication, implementation and maintenance of the company’s total rewards including compensation, benefit and employee wellness programs, policies, and procedures that allow the Company to attract, retain and reward high quality individuals while controlling cost. Assures thorough audits, reports and personal contact that company compensation, benefit and employee wellness programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Human Resource Management. Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a degree. EHBA, PHR, SPHR, CEBS, CBP and/or CCP Certifications preferred.
Must have demonstrated leadership skills through three years of management experience. Seven years experience in human resources focusing on total rewards including benefits,, compensation, employee services and wellness that includes developing, implementing total rewards programs, ensuring sound, compliant policies and procedures, improving business processes and providing proactive service solutions. Health insurance/managed care industry experience is highly preferred.
Work experience must demonstrate progressive responsibility designing, implementing and administering total rewards programs for all levels including line, management, and executive staff. Experience working with board level committees on program offerings and outcomes is preferred.
Knowledge of HR regulatory, legal requirements and reporting as related to total rewards including employee benefits, compensation, and wellness programs is required. Knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, OBRA, FMLA, SECTION 125, HIPAA, Workers Compensation, Medicare, Social Security, DOL and OFCCP requirements is required.
Experience establishing strategy for compensation programs and providing oversight to the planning, designing and execution of compensation activities to ensure pay programs are competitive and enable the company to attract, retain and reward employees at all levels.
Effective management skills including long and short term planning and budgeting are required. Project Management experience highly desirable.
Effective presentation and facilitation skills demonstrating the ability to deliver a consistent and succinct message to audiences at all levels from line staff to executives.
Strong human relations, statistical, analytical and computer skills are required. Working knowledge of relevant PC software is required.
Proficient organizational and problem solving skills are necessary, as is the ability to work independently.
Must be capable of handling multiple responsibilities concurrently.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Leads a team of professionals through development of staff, providing feedback, coaching and recognition hiring, terminating, setting performance standards, performance reviews, approving work schedules and assigning and directing workload, to ensure team and HR divisional goals are met.
Establishes, implements, and administers compensation, employee benefit, wellness and employee services policies and programs that ensure the Company's competitive position in the labor market while minimizing administrative cost.
Ensures continuous process improvement through ongoing evaluation of total rewards competitiveness, effectiveness, cost and perceived value.
Ensures appropriate and timely development, preparation and execution of communications for employee benefits and employee wellness programs including written material, electronic messages, booklets, and other media for communicating plan information to employees or prospective.
Collaborates with legal, actuarial, financial and tax professionals on benefit plan documentation, pricing, regulatory reporting and tax filings.
Assures company compliance with applicable Federal and State regulations.
Develops both short and long-range objectives for compensation, employee benefit employee service and wellness programs; analyzes relevant statistical and survey trend data to forecast future total rewards design and costs that support the Company’s goals and initiatives and ensures the ability to attract, recruit and retain top talent.
Serves as an internal consultant to the CEO, executive, management and line staff on areas of accountability. policy and guideline interpretation. Delivers presentations regarding compensation, benefit and wellness to the compensation committee of the board of directors.
Maintains relationships that encourage team work, HR competency development and division performance excellence.
The ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize, and analyze are required.
Job duties are performed in a normal and clean office environment with normal noise levels.
Work is predominately done while standing or sitting.
