We have an exciting opportunity for a Compensation Manager in our Corporate Headquarters located in Houston, TX.
Responsible for managing the overall compensation function, including the implementation and support of compensation programs, practices, and policies to attract and retain top talent. In addition, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administration of the Company’s retirement plans.
Relying on broad knowledge and strong leadership skills, the Compensation Manager is accountable for the following responsibilities:
Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of compensation programs to support business needs, including competitive analysis, internal impact analysis, cost projections, implementation strategies, and strong communication with HR Management.
Manage the administration of Long Term Incentive plan(s), including coordination with internal stakeholders such as: Legal, Accounting, Tax, Payroll, etc
Administer all compensation activities including benchmarking, ad hoc market analysis, etc.
Provide consultative advice and analytic support to HR and managers as needed on all pay related issues
Manage FLSA analysis and compliance
Maintain automated salary management tools by ensuring data is accurate and updated
Manage the company’s job description database to ensure creation and maintenance of accurate and updated job descriptions.
Participate in and analyze results of purchased compensation surveys, including the relationship with survey vendors.
Regularly prepare reports to display and analyze current employee and compensation data within salary structure.
Manage EEO-1 compliance and analysis, including preparation of the annual EEO-1 filing.
Manage HRIS projects as they relate to compensation.
Keep apprised of federal, state and local laws and regulations in order to ensure company compliance.
Manage the smooth transition of acquired companies into our compensation structure, including mapping employees to existing job codes, creating new job codes as needed and auditing all imported data (FLSA, EEO-1, Work Comp codes, etc) for accuracy.
Analyze and administer executive compensation programs including executive salary surveys, annual and long-term incentive programs, and deferred compensation plans.
Record and track Employment Agreements and coordinate renewals as needed.
Monitor bi-weekly 401(k) employee contribution enrollments and changes, loan deductions and reconciliation to payroll system deductions.
Manage the bi-weekly 401(k) funding process with 401(k) record keeper.
Interpret 401(k) plan details and practices based on plan provisions as required for accurate and thorough administration of the plan.
Perform periodic audits of 401(k) data, as necessary, to ensure 401(k) plan limits are accurately followed and that the reporting of earnings information to Third Party Administrator (TPA) is accurate.
Monitor distributions from 401(k) in accordance with plan vesting schedule.
Assist in the maintenance of updated records, forms and communications, including plan materials and Summary Plan Descriptions.
Manage mid-year and year-end non-discrimination testing and the annual 5500 plan audit.
Maintain 401(k) plan and procedure information on company intranet.
Manage the integration of retirement benefits of acquired companies, to ensure a smooth and compliant transition.
May reconcile GL accounts relating to the 401(k) plan.
Position Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field or the equivalent education and/or experience
Minimum of six years of relevant and progressive experience in area of specialization
Minimum of three years of leadership experience
Possesses and has the ability to apply advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
