Leverage on theoretical compensation knowledge and external experiences in other organizations to bring forward new ideas and concepts.
Manage all compensation market pricing activities to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, while adhering to the company’s compensation philosophy.
Develop compensation strategies for existing employees; providing guidance and interpretation of various compensation market trends.
Establish market compensation standards using external data for purposes of making recommendations regarding salary structures, total compensation opportunities, and/or development of segmented compensation structures.
Partner with the HR IS technology team to ensure that current market base pay is captured and optimized for use by the Compensation team
Leverage existing or new tools and processes developed by HR IS technology and assure appropriate analytics to support delivery of HR programs.
Represent Air Canada at various Compensation networking groups.
Participate in various compensation-related projects which involve revision, development and/or re-design of existing compensation programs.
Provides strategic compensation insights to help support, attraction, retention and development strategy.
University degree (or equivalent experience) in HR, management or related disciplines.
Experience in Compensation market evaluation.
A minimum of five years of professional level compensation program design and administration experience required.
Experience in planning and executing compensation strategies that align with enterprise goals is also desired.
Awareness of current compensation best practices; experience with effectively implementing them within the organization.
Experience in developing market data gathering tool is a plus
Experience with working independently and cooperatively / collaboratively as part of a team, developing productive working relationships with diverse groups of people.
Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; expert user of Excel.

Must have strong business acumen, be results-oriented, able to follow through, and effectively manage and communicate projects.
