The Compensation Director reports to the Chief Human Capital Officer and in alignment with business objectives, is responsible for the design, development, implementation, communication and effectiveness of: base pay and incentive programs (including the Corporate Annual Bonus Plan and Long Term Incentive Program), global pay structures, administration of the equity programs and other special projects. Accordingly, this position leads the compensation team and partners with Human Resources, Segment Leaders, Legal, Finance and external partners.
Essential Job Functions
Leads Compensation function for firm including: executive compensation, annual compensation review process, equity compensation, sales commissions and annual benchmarking.
Provides strategy for the development of new compensation programs and any changes to current programs to ensure that they effectively meet the needs of the firm.
Prepares Compensation Committee documents for review and approval, and presents to the Compensation Committee on all compensation topics, including the setting of NEO pay.
Prepares Compensation Design and Analysis for the annual proxy statement.
Effectively partners with Finance to ensure that the appropriate accounting is in place for the Firm incentive programs.
Directs the work and development of the Compensation team.
Develop and oversee compensation related project plans including base pay and incentive plans, HR processes and procedures. This includes design and development of competitive compensation programs across the organization that will attract, retain and reward talent in accordance with Navigant’s compensation philosophy.
Partner with the HR Business Partners and firm leaders in all locations to balance consistency of philosophy with sensitivity to local market conditions.
Sales Compensation: Lead the development of sales compensation plans by working closely with external consultants, Sales and Consulting Services HR Business Partners, Executives and Finance on sales comp plan design and administration.
Global: Provide global compensation support by working closely with the HR team as the company continues to grow around the world.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field and a minimum of ten years of progressive compensation experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential job functions.
Proven record with effecting positive change as current incentive designs are continually assessed, particularly as Navigant is continues to evolve and grow.
Expertise with improving existing compensation programs/processes, as well as incubating and implementing new programs across important compensation areas.
Ability to communicate and build consensus effectively with all levels of the Firm’s management including the Board of Directors and key stakeholders.
Advanced MS Excel skills and solid proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to travel as required.
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously.
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently.
