This position assists in the development, implementation, maintenance and communication of the company's health & welfare plans as well as leaves of absence administration. Working in conjunction with the Corporate Benefits department, this position ensures all company-sponsored benefits programs remain competitive, innovative, compliant and cost effective. Also provides assistance in the design, coordination and support of wellness program activities aimed at creating a culture of health. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsible for the day-to-day administration and operation of the benefit plans, including PFG’s leave of absence administration. Works across all levels of the company to address benefits-related questions and provide guidance on complex circumstances.
Works with third-party administrators and payroll to administer all disability, family and medical, military service, and personal leaves of absence. Assists with the planning and implementation of our annual benefits during open enrollment. Coordinates with Payroll department to ensure proper payment to associates during leave. Ensures compliance, applying a working knowledge of state and federal leave laws and PFGs plan and pay practices. Performs premium and payroll reconciliation upon associates’ return to work.
Manages two or more benefit vendors including but not limited to: Affordable Care Act, COBRA, Health Savings Accounts, Flexible Spending Accounts, Life, Disability, Dental, Vision, EAP, etc.
Responsible for managing two or more scheduled processes, such as reconciling monthly premium billing and preparing checks to vendor for payment; auditing and loading weekly deduction files; facilitating collection of retroactive premiums, administering wellness credit; Affordable Care Act reporting, compliance and administration; electronic consent of benefit information, etc.
Provides support to field locations regarding escalated benefits issues.
Assists with the planning and implementation of our annual benefits during open enrollment.
Creates and distributes benefit-related standard reports on a scheduled basis for audit, follow-up, and action as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
4-6 years of Benefits administration experience and/or Human Resources, particularly leaves of absence.
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
Solid time management skills with an ability to prioritize your time and manage multiple projects concurrently without compromising quality.
Proactive nature and the ability to follow through until assignment completion.
Solid understanding of payroll processes and practices.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) designation.
