Responsible for providing a broad range of professional and complex analysis in support of recruitment, retention and competitive pay practices. Responsible for processing payroll and position management, ensuring accuracy of data entry and conformance with City policy; assisting in the conduct of market pricing and internal equity analyses; conducting FLSA reviews and job evaluations; updating and maintaining City job descriptions and maintaining compensation related data bases and ensuring their accuracy.
As needed, conduct job analysis by analyzing job duties, conducting research and interviews, synthesizing data, analyzing information, completing a job description questionnaire and determining appropriate classification. Respond to salary survey requests from other jurisdictions.
Coordinate the planning and implementation of the City’s performance management system, including updating various performance evaluation forms. Research compensation issues and disputes and provide analysis to facilitate resolution. Provide analytical support and data analysis on projects and human resource metrics.
Track and monitor various HR statistics including turnover and succession planning data, etc. Conduct and report on employee exit interviews. Support ongoing improvement of compensation practices, processes and systems, suggesting potential changes as appropriate. Ensure compliance with state, local and federal laws and regulations, city policies and procedures.
Work with Compensation Manager to maintain an updated the Compensation Process Handbook. Provide front-line HR customer service, serving as a back-up for the HR Assistant in his/her absence. Serve as backup to Compensation Manager.
