The position will work with internal and external staff to execute employee benefit and reward solutions for the client workplace. The position is responsible for maintaining and analyzing complex client demographic data and developing business requirements for benefit program implementation and deployment. The position works closely with the Account Executive and Actuary, making strategic recommendations on benefit program design and cost containment.
Analyzes and models client’s demographic data, plan costs and trends; works with the Account Executive and Actuary on cost impact and business forecast; identifies potential issues and consequences based on the data results.
Develops client presentations in a variety of formats; creates cost analyses to include in client presentations.
Creates Requests for Proposals (RFPs), analyzes responses and makes strategic recommendations based on results; develops executive summary for presentation to client.
Reviews client data, e.g., payroll contribution data, carrier files, premium payments, etc., to ensure accuracy and performs in-depth analyses on monthly, quarterly and annual data as well as predicts trends.
Maintains and identifies improvements to internal reporting methodologies.
Creates metrics and reports to ensure that client files meet stated business requirements; identifies data system flaws and implements any needed solutions.
Assists the Account Executive by reviewing both plan documents and market trend reports to suggest design and cost strategy; creates presentations on same to help the client remain competitive while containing costs.
Suggests innovative and a targeted approach to increase employee engagement and enrollment during the year and at annual enrollment based on the client’s historical data and plan goals.
Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, economics, finance or math; advanced degree a plus with excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong analytical ability including modeling/forecasting with the ability to design, track, and work toward specific measurable performance targets for clients.
Five to eight years’ experience working in an analytical and consultative capacity pertaining to all facets of employee benefits involving welfare plans, e.g., medical, dental, life, disability and other such plans/programs; some experience tracking market/carrier trends and benchmarking.
Knowledge of basic Affordable Care Act measurement and assessments.
Experience with multiple software and system-based applications, including database and spreadsheets (advanced Excel), MS Access, Visio, and Power Point systems.
Strong written communication and presentation skills.
Excellent organizational/time management skills working on multiple projects.
Some experience presenting data to clients either via phone or in-person.
Ability to travel as necessary.
