Functions as a senior-level compensation professional, providing compensation support including innovative compensation design, ability to influence and build consensus with key stakeholders, strategic program development and implementation in close partnership with HR Business Partners and those responsible for the delivery model (i.e., Sutter Shared Services Compensation).
Responsibilities also include research and analysis of cost-effective and legally compliant base and variable pay programs. Works with system, operating unit and affiliate HR leadership by reviewing policies and procedures, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data and statistics in the development, planning and execution of compensation strategies and guiding principles. Completes complex analyses to support union contract negotiations and effective compensation programs. Researches new laws and regulations to determine the impact on compensation programs, reporting requirements, and communication implications.
Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or combination of education and experience is required.
CCP - Certified Compensation Professional
Provide own transportation.
6+ or more years of experience as a seasoned compensation professional or comparable role. Progressively responsible experience designing and developing compensation, incentive, and recognition programs including: • Innovative compensation program design • Ability to influence and build consensus with key stakeholders; • Strategic program development and implementation in close partnership with HR Business Partners along with those responsible for the delivery model.
Prioritizing workloads with demanding deadlines and changing priorities while maintaining flexibility and accuracy is required. Previous experience in a large company with 5,000+ employees a plus. Experience with financial modeling highly desired.
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of FLSA and California State and Federal wage and hour law, and its application, and execute to an implementation plan. Knowledge of incentive plans and components that drive business success. Knowledge of compensation in a union environment strongly preferred. Knowledge of current trends/issues in the healthcare industry and related implications for compensation systems is strongly desired.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, the ability to perform research and draw valid conclusions, formulate sound recommendations and prepare effective written reports is required. Strong effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner to management, and employees at all levels is required. Strong organizational abilities, the ability to work independently, maintain a balance of work priorities and complete assignments within established timeframes is required. Timeliness, attention to detail and accuracy is required. Use of a personal computer with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, and Microsoft Office is required. Advanced skills with spreadsheet development and manipulation is required
