Partners with the HR staff and department / divisional leadership to support all compensation and salary planning initiatives including market research and analysis, internal equity analysis, annual merit review administration and client support including ad-hoc studies and/or projects. Collaborates with broader HR and client teams to support on-going administrative processes, enhance Compensation department efficiency and improve current practices by providing system and information management support and reporting. May lead small projects or workstreams within medium to large scale projects. Provides mentoring and guidance to colleagues as needed or required. Other miscellaneous duties as required.

One to two years of relevant experience
Human Resources or compensation consulting experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or similar field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

Compensation Administration and Analysis
Conducts job evaluation including assessment of external market, internal equity and exemption status to recommend and establish FLSA status, salary range, promotional increases and new hire salary
Provides consultative guidance to a variety of stakeholders (HR, divisions/departments across campus) regarding compensation matters in order to guide the stakeholder to the appropriate solution, bearing in mind organizational strategy, cultural relevance and budget. Involves HR leaders or other HR colleagues as appropriate
Creates and maintains compensation reports, queries and analysis involving HR / compensation data and metrics. Maintains compensation data.
Participates in annual compensation surveys, ensuring quality and accuracy of the submission. Interacts with survey vendors to ensure understanding of methodology and to influence quality and results relative to benchmarking best practices
Applies appropriate frameworks and methodologies to develop and conduct analysis related to the assessment of HR and compensation data
Acts as a key resource for HR projects and initiatives that involve impact to compensation programs and/or processes
Leads compensation projects of low complexity, or project workstreams of low to medium complexity
May develop and maintain projects plans in collaboration with project lead and broader project team, following up with stakeholders to ensure appropriate report out on status of deliverables and identification of risks and contingencies
Completes assigned project tasks and/or may assign project tasks as appropriate
May develop and disseminate project communications and/or training material
System and Information Management
Acts as liaison to MarketPay for coordination of system data management, process changes, resolution of issues and overall use of the system with a view toward efficiency and best practice relative to survey and system administration
Designs and produces compensation related custom reports on behalf of stakeholders. Provides training as needed on the generation and/or use of the report
May lead HRMS compensation data maintenance projects to improve data quality. Serves as liaison with finance centers on HRMS compensation data matters, ensuring consistency and integrity of systems and department records
Administers the union pay processes, including the auto-increment process, annual increases and other contractual pay changes. Alerts Director(s) as appropriate regarding exceptions or variances
Acts as systems expert regarding the use of MarketPay, DORR , HRMS and other systems related matters as pertains to compensation administration. Provides guidance to stakeholder and/or trains staff as needed or required
Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement including appropriate solutions and implementation considerations. May develop and implement system processes and procedures
