Our Compensation Consultant provides compensation consulting for all aspects of broad based and incentive compensation company-wide. Partners with senior management on the design and execution of our incentive plan philosophy and strategy. This role directly impacts how we motivate, attract, retain and reward thousands of Discovers customer facing roles which significantly affect the Company’s bottom line. The responsibilities include: consulting with the business and HR on compensation issues and problem resolution, project management, incentive and recognition program design, and communication.
Specific duties include:
Business and HR Partner consulting and support: Provides counsel to HR generalists, business partners and other internal clients on field compensation matters, policies, practices and/or procedures. Reviews market analysis and research to support compensation decisions and program recommendations to ensure competitive position (internal/external) for pay, retention and motivation. Provides analysis and perspective on incentive plan design to optimize business results. Builds on industry and compensation best practices in order to lead and promote innovative thinking and solution development.
Project management: Provides leadership and consultation on large, cross-functional, compensation projects or programs. Projects will have significant impact to the company and be highly visible to senior leadership. Gathers required data from research sources and stakeholders to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to define deliverables. Collaborates with HR partners, business leaders and external consultants to ensure project success.
Incentive & recognition program design and analysis: Helps facilitate the evaluation and design of incentive plans and recognition programs in partnership with the business, including analysis and communications as appropriate. Optimizes plan effectiveness by ensuring alignment to business objectives, simplicity and ROI. Requires frequent interaction with business partners, finance, compliance, legal, risk and HR representatives.
Communications: Partners with internal communication teams to create materials for the purpose of conveying compensation messages to other areas of HR and to all call center employees and managers. Researches, writes, and edits internal communication documents or emails. Prepares and gives presentations and updates on compensation.
Risk Management: Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes.
? Bachelor's Degree? 8+ years compensation related experience (including incentive compensation) ? Compensation Certification strongly preferred ? Strong consulting skills with the ability to influence Sr Leadership without direct authority ? Demonstrated knowledge of labor and fair employment laws centered around pay practices ? Detail oriented, highly organized ? Strong communication and project management skills ? Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other internal teams and achieve results through resources outside of direct control ? High degree of proficiency in Microsoft office programs (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) ? Workday experience preferred
