PURPOSE: To perform a full scope of professional level compensation activities. This includes assisting in the development and administration of various compensation programs and activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Job Analysis: • Conduct analysis of submitted position questionnaires for classification. • Research and pull job descriptions and salary information from various salary surveys. • Apply job evaluation techniques to establish equitable compensation rates within the organization as compared to market rates.
Compensation Administration: • Assist in the development, implementation and administration of the annual merit system. • Perform compensation budget tracking. • Perform market & promotion increase coordination. • Conduct background internal and external equity research and develops salary offers. • Participate in Compensation pricing activities for Request for Proposals (RFPs).
Compensation Increase Plan (CIP) for DOE and ORAU Board: • Create and evaluate Estimated Market Values (EMVs) for the CIP proposal. • Create organizational unit Compensation budgets. • Track CIP allocations throughout the Compensation year. • Update the salary structure. • Prepare analysis, tables, and exhibits for salary proposals and reports.
Variable Compensation: • Administer the company's variable pay compensation programs in accordance with established policies. • Serve as back-up to Compensation Analyst 1 for daily administration.
Salary Surveys: • Respond to a variety of compensation surveys. • Perform analysis and summarization of compensation surveys, in order to analyze the competitiveness of ORAU’s salary programs related to the market.
Compliance: • Keep abreast of and ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Service Contract Act. • Collect data about company's Compensation policies and analyze them to prepare reports and advise managers for making important decisions.
Performs compensation special projects or other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience performing duties as described may be substituted for the minimum requirements. Prefer professional experience in compensation. Ability to apply basic knowledge and quickly acquire more in-depth knowledge to successfully complete assignments. Ability to research and analyze general data and information to distill into focused and useful form. Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, and regulations. Ability to organize and prioritize work. Able to effectively manage a demanding workload. Flexibility and the ability to multi-task and move from one task to another quickly are essential. Must have experience with Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Oracle experience preferred. SPHR or CCP preferred.
