Reporting to the Vice President, Human Resources, the Director of Compensation & Benefits will work closely with the executive leadership team on the analysis, design, implementation and communication of Total Rewards programs including compensation and benefits. The Director of Compensation & Benefits will ensure Total Rewards programs align to the organizational objectives, culture and budget.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead the total rewards strategy while managing a high-performance team to deliver results around competitive compensation, benefits, pay equity and retirement plan vendor management.
Evaluate competitive practices and proactively make final recommendations to ensure compensation and benefit plans are cost competitive and support company values and business objectives.
Own the compensation planning (including base pay, variable pay, incentive plans, equity management) and review process, including creating guidelines on benchmark data and innovative processes for all business units.
Manage partnership with benefits broker to evaluate, negotiate and administer healthcare and retirement plans.
Serve as compensation and benefits subject matter expert for executives, managers, associates and other professionals; Consult and partner with executive leadership, finance and business units to identify, understand and address issues related to compensation and benefits while influencing stakeholders effectively.
Lead development of data and presentation of Comp. Committee books; Present to committee if needed.
Provide expertise and regular guidance to business units and corporate for merit, bonus and equity accrual forecasting and implementation.
Interpret and enforce company policies and government regulations that affect benefits to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Stay abreast of compensation and benefits legislation and technology; providing continuous improvements to processes and systems.
Payroll Vendor Management
Formal Recognition Program (Total incentive summaries, service anniversary incentive program).
Qualifications and Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics or Human Resources; Master’s degree and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.
10+ years’ of experience in compensation, benefits, finance or an equivalent field. 5+ years managing a team of compensation and benefits staff with a proven record of successfully mentoring, leading and retaining a highly productive team with a focus on best practices.
Complete understanding and technical expertise of broad based compensation programs and pension plans.
Proven experience creating and managing innovative Compensation and Total Rewards programs.
Strong quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills, attention to detail, strong presentation and project management skills
Ability to identify and independently solve complex problems.
Current knowledge of related government rules and regulations, including ERISA, FLSA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Workers Compensation and other applicable tax laws and regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and have strong prioritization, planning and organization skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of an organization.
Global experience strongly preferred
Proficient with HRIS systems, Excel and Power Point.
