This role is responsible for the development, implementation and administration of compensation programs and compensation related project work.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
• Maintains and analyzes ongoing compensation programs; evaluates jobs using market data and established evaluation systems and/or procedures; audits evaluation of jobs; ensures compliance with all legal aspects of the compensation function • Develops, maintains and administers sales compensation plans, policies, documentation and tools to enable boundary partners and people leaders to recruit, retain and reward talent in a competitive market place. • Understands sales compensation theory and practice to enable a working partnership with multiple sales channel sales operations teams and sales leadership groups. May participate in sales incentive and commission reporting in relation to job incumbent performance to assess pay for performance models. • Counsels and advises leaders regarding the development of job summaries and/or descriptions; role clarification, lines of demarcation from one function to another and development of defensible minimum/preferred qualifications. May also partner with HR Business Partners to provide advice on the development of performance scorecards in evaluating incumbent performance. • Participates in complex compensation surveys; prepares and analyzes survey data; recommends changes to compensation programs to maintain the company’s competitive position in the marketplace • Produces reports and analyzes compensation data to support client deliverables such as incentive plan audits, merit budget, salary structure management, and incentive plan data. • Submits, tracks, and communicates the creation of job codes or changes to job attributes. • Assists in the design and administration of performance recognition award programs; monitors effectiveness of programs; recommends changes as necessary • Collaborates with others to lead the process for the administration of merit & equity programs; reviews proposed changes in pay for conformance to policy; prepares detailed analysis in support of establishing merit budgets • Facilitates the analysis of current variable compensation programs to determine plan effectiveness; models proposed incentive plans to ensure viability of design, audits on-going administration of plans and ensures payouts will provide market competitive payments for appropriate performance requirements • Prepares special analysis and recommendations on subjects such as base pay delivery, incentive compensation design, administration and delivery, and performance management • Consults with and advises management to assess competitive labor market trends and specific business needs as they relate to compensation • Develops, recommends, and implements compensation process and policy changes, and may participate in design and analysis of executive compensation programs and external reporting requirements • Provides functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced compensation staff • Conducts complex statistical analyses to create actionable insights for department leadership. • Analyzes and presents data to provide recommendations to department senior leadership for use in making operational decisions, identifying process improvements and developing policy to support change initiatives; acts as an agent of change.
• 5 or more years of experience required in related field (i.e. Compensation, Human Resources, Financial Analysis, etc.) • 3 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree • Requires strong knowledge and demonstration of intermediate to advanced Excel skills and mastery of Microsoft Word & PowerPoint. • Discretion in dealing with confidential and sensitive information • Strong quantitative reasoning skills • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization • Broad background in general compensation including job design, market pricing, general sales compensation methods and practices and surveys
• BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Human Resources, Business, Mathematics, etc.). • Understanding of or familiarity with executive compensation • Advanced expertise in Excel • Experience in telecommunications industry desired. • CCP Preferred
