The Employee Relations Specialist: is a strategic business partner to Supervisory and Managerial personnel in all matters pertaining to employee relations; counsels, advises, and makes recommendations to Supervisory and Managerial personnel as it relates to employee relations opportunities, including performance improvement, grievance resolution, compliance administration; works closely with City management, the HR Director and Legal Staff to make recommendations consistent with City policy and Federal and state employment laws (e.g., ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EO, AA and Re-employment Assistance); is knowledgeable of and remains current on developments in federal and state employment laws and employee/employer relations trends. To be considered for this position you must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in human resources, employee relations, organizational development, business administration or related subject and have four (4) years of progressively responsible, professional level experience in Human Resources.
Or, an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources, employee relations, organizational development, business administration or related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible, professional level experience in human resources.
