This position supports the day-to-day administration and coordination of General Dynamics’ employee benefit programs. The individual will provide critical support to the benefits team to ensure timely, efficient and accurate handling of benefit operations.
Assist benefits team in the administration of employee benefit programs (401(k), pension and health & welfare programs) in accordance with the plan documents and applicable regulations
Research participant, record keeper and business unit questions/issues related to HW, DB and DC plans. Provide information to Sr. Analyst and/or benefits manager to resolve or escalate as necessary.
Provide support in coordinating and researching various audit requests. Audits include EBP audits, dependent verification, DOL or other governmental audits.
Draft employee benefits related communications. Assist with administration of Corporate office benefit changes as required. Set up and coordinate various Corporate office benefit initiatives (Health Fair, Biometric screenings, etc)
Assist Benefits manager in communicating and implementing various company-wide initiatives and projects. Typical projects include creation of step challenges, FSA vendor analyses, and annual enrollment activities.
Provide project support for annual or ad hoc projects related to the administration of employee benefit programs. Typical projects include NDT Testing, 401K eligibility analysis, summary plan description (SPD) updates, and ACA testing, among others.
Utilize PeopleSoft and other databases to produce detailed analyses and reports around plan data, employee participation, eligibility criteria and other metrics.
Provide assistance related to invoice processing. Ensure invoices received from contractors are approved in accordance with company policy. Allocate costs appropriately and prepare payment direction letters as needed. Track invoices through payment process to ensure accurate payment and completion. Answer questions and resolve issues with contractors.
Assist management with department budget development and monitoring
Track and maintain internal log of important issues/tasks. Ensure follow up with various stakeholders and timely resolution
Process funding wires in support of the various employee benefit plans, ensuring appropriate approval and timely submission
Participate in special benefit related projects as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Certifications:
BS/BA degree in Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the function of the job
Minimum 3 years of experience with administering employee benefit programs is preferred.
Experience in benefit administration outsourced environment, either as the client or the provider, is preferred
Working knowledge of employee benefit plans, including relevant federal and state regulations and legislation
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels
Must possess excellent attention to detail, analytical reasoning and problem solving skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while adapting to changing priorities in a faced paced deadline oriented environment
Must possess professionalism, discretion, and good judgment
Highly collaborative and team oriented
Must be fully proficient in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
