As a member of the People and Places (HR) Leadership Team, the Head of Total Rewards will provide strategic leadership for the design, development, change management and administrative support of all Zendesk Compensation, Rewards and Recognition processes and programs to drive adoption and help support the company’s growth.
The Total Rewards Leader will develop a robust and comprehensive rewards strategy that aligns short-term and long-term rewards with results that support the organization’s business objectives while attracting and retaining top talent. This includes preparing materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors and the CD&A section of the proxy.
This position reports to the Chief People Officer and influences and works closely with C-Staff and the broader People and Places Leadership Team.
What You'll Do...
Lead an amazing Total Rewards Team (7 Staff)
Earn the trust and confidence of Zendesk’s senior management team; responsible for aligning executive and broad-based compensation, incentive and benefits programs to drive performance results and the employee experience globally
Ensure our programs and practices are anchored in the vision for the Company, our long-term strategy and our values
Develop competitive and cost-effective pay systems (including short and long term incentive plans) which create a compelling employee value proposition
Lead the design, change management, and development of incentive programs, including sales (consult/partner with Sales Leader) and management incentive programs to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and market practice
Oversee the development of Executive Compensation philosophy, strategies and practices aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
Provide analytical and reporting support for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors
In partnership with Stock Administration, manage equity administration on global basis. Partner with accounting and tax to assist reporting and reconciliation activities for company
Partner with sales leadership to ensure that sales incentive designs are effective and adaptable to the company’s business strategy
Coordinate with Talent Management to ensure that executive compensation programs support overall leadership and talent management, development and succession plans
Work collaboratively with People and Places partners, including global business partnering, talent acquisition and HRIS to improve the processes, workflow and systems that administer total rewards
Design and recommend Benefits programs to management by assessing employee requirements, reviewing competitor and general industry practices, and analyzing cost impact/effectiveness
Oversee the design, implementation, communication, and compliance to Executive Compensation policies
Requires a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience with 5 years’ experience in the development of corporate level Executive Compensation/Benefits strategies
Ability to effectively consult and negotiate with all levels of management for solutions to complex problems
Ability to identify, develop and implement programs that support corporate strategic objectives
Exposure to HR legal requirements in countries other than the USA
Knowledge of Human Resources and Organizational Development disciplines
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, consultative, and communication skills
Must be able to work collaboratively across cultures and organizations
Experience working with a global HRIS system – Workday preferred
