HR Benefits Specialist-Temple Terrace
(Full Time 8a-5p)
Tampa, FL Area
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for management and administration all employee benefit plans and Cobra administration. Adheres to the highest standard of professional integrity and work values. S/he upholds confidentiality toward employees, families, patients, colleagues, applicants and sensitive situations arising within the Company.
Responsible for strategic and tactical management of employee benefits programs including plan design and implementation.
Conducts detailed benefits cost analysis and recommends strategies to insure cost effectiveness.
Develops and implements comprehensive communication programs for benefits including electronic/telephonic media to improve understanding and service for staff.
Serves as the primary contact person for plan administration and issue management with brokers, carriers regarding issues or problems.
Manages employee orientation to benefits
Insures regulatory compliance and filings are completed within required time lines.
Assists plan administration of the 403(b) pension program.
Manages FMLA for compliance and administration
Coordinates staff recognition programs.
Enters and maintains new or changed benefit information into HRIS data base.
Coordinates open enrollment meetings at multiple locations.
Reconciles/processes benefit plan invoices for accuracy and timely payment.
Manages COBRA health/dental insurance function.
Develops custom HRIS and Excel reports as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required
5+ years’ experience in developing cost effective benefit programs
5+ years’ experience and demonstrated expertise in the daily administration of benefit plans
Familiarity with the laws and regulations related to employee benefit programs
Strong computer and analytical skills
Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to work unsupervised, exercising discretion and independent judgment
Intermittent Driver - Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance per Company policy
Ability to travel to off-site locations
