Responsible for the leadership and administration of complex position classification determinations and employee compensation. Designs, plans and implements classification and compensation programs, policies and procedures, and compensation reward solutions to ensure a fair and competitive structure. Conducts job analysis, develops and participates in market surveys, compiles and interprets job market information and statistical data. Develops position competency models and career path designs. Provides guidance to management and staff regarding applicable laws, statutes, and policies including but not limited to FLSA. Accountable for relevant system modules, recommends enhancements, tests and implements changes, and develops and generates reports. Directly administers multiple programs utilizing various software and methods.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Guide, lead, review, verify, observe, and manage the work of people reporting directly to you.
Plan, direct, and control the work of people who do not report directly to you, but who provide support to the goals and objectives of your organization.
Develop long-range goals, objectives, priorities, and recommendations.
Develop short-term goals. Includes goals, objectives, priorities and/or recommendations.
Function as a consultant to administrators, faculty and staff.
Respond to complex inquiries from all levels of employees or external sources regarding a variety of questions, such as clarification of College or Campus policy and procedures.
Administer job classifications and maintain salary schedules for employees.
Develop or administer wage and salary programs. Includes research and analysis of competitive wage rates and implementation of wage/salary adjustments.
Develop programs to reward or recognize employees for length of service, safety, attendance, wellness, or performance.
Update and prepare new job descriptions.
Analyze and evaluate jobs for assignment to salary grades.
Develop, distribute, collect and respond to compensation and/or benefit survey needs both internally and externally.
Assist in developing and monitoring a performance management system to include coaching and performance appraisal.
Counsel and motivate employees and supervisors to practice and promote consistent, equal and fair treatment of all employees.
Counsel employees on company policies, procedures and practices to ensure a sound employee relation environment.
Develop complex management reports, using multiple databases.
Design complex spreadsheets, with multiple function formulas and links.
Monitor various projects to insure maximum effectiveness and compliance.
Adherence to health information in compliance with featured and State laws and the college’s privacy practices under HIPAA. Full access to protected health information (PHI).
Attend workshops, seminars or conferences to sharpen job related skills. Maintain ongoing knowledge of policies, procedures, laws and ordinances, benefits, and union agreements.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of four years classification and compensation experience, to include experience in supervision, and experience with developing compensation strategies.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Master’s degree. CCP, LCPHR−P, SPHR or PHR certification. Knowledge of Workday compensation.
