Under the direction of the Director, Total Rewards and Organizational Effectiveness, the HR Officer – HR Systems will be responsible for delivering Human Resource Information System (HRIS) functions, ensuring data integrity, processing and reporting of HR data, and user support for integrated HRIS solutions. They will problem-solve regular and non-routine requests by determining the approach or action to take, interpreting guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices. The incumbent will work independently under general direction, as well as collaboratively with other Human Resources, Labour Relations, Health and Safety and Payroll staff in assessing needs of various business functions and assists managers and employees in with their HRIS and reporting requirements. S/he will also be responsible for system security, as well as setting-up, maintaining and changing user profiles, and work with Payroll and vendors to ensure system integrity.
In addition, the incumbent will perform generalist HR duties including recruitment, compensation and employee services for specific client groups and will provide backup for the team’s HR Business Partners as required. S/he will work closely with the Director Total Rewards and Organizational Effectiveness on other HR initiatives including the configuration and implementation of new HRIS modules in the Saba/Halogen talent suite, supporting ADP Payroll systems, job evaluation, analysis of compensation and benefits information, and serve as a key resource for labour costing, HR Metrics and other HR Decision Support functions. This role will lead process development, documentation and charting initiatives and develop appropriate workflows in line with work processes and approval policies. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the Human Resources Department, Information Systems Department, and external vendors, requiring seasoned systems knowledge and generalist knowledge of Human Resources activities.
Audits and confirms accuracy and integrity of all data entered, maintains data in HRIS systems and databases and assures information is available on a timely basis;
Performs group data updates, exports, imports, clean-ups, and researches/reports on any data discrepancies;
Delivers routine daily/weekly/monthly reporting and responds to basic to intermediate ad hoc data requests from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Management and other stakeholders;
Prepares reports, graphs, charts and statistics in support of human resources operations;
Works with HR Management to develop and report on key HR performance measurements and indicators;
Maintains and updates the HRIS and other systems portals, documents and forms;
Performs generalist human resources duties for specified client groups as necessary.
University degree or college diploma in a related field;
3 - 5 years HR experience with extensive experience and interest in HR systems.
Skills to manipulate large datasets using Excel and other reporting tools with accuracy and attention to detail. You will have a customer focused approach using good interpersonal and communication skills to ensure effective service delivery;
HR generalist experience;
Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) or Halogen/Saba Talent Management Systems;
Knowledge of Provincial and Federal employment legislation;
Proficiency in Excel and other reporting tools;
Detail-oriented, committed to excellence, and a team player ;
Perform all work in a PIPEDA and FIPPA compliant manner;
Adaptable, self-motivated and ability to effective set priorities, multi-task and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
