Sasol (USA) Corporation is building a world-scale ethane cracker and derivatives complex adjacent to its existing site near Westlake in Calcasieu Parish. The ethane cracker will enable Sasol to expand its differentiated ethylene derivatives business, while helping to strengthen U.S. Manufacturing, boost exports and spur economic growth.
Due to our tremendous growth we are recruiting for a HR Compensation Analyst. Supporting the Senior Compensation Advisor, the Compensation Analyst provides analytical support of compensation programs in North America including job evaluation, pay recommendations, market pricing, annual review of salary structures and ranges, merit budgeting, and variable pay. This position can be located in Houston, Texas or Lake Charles, Louisiana. If located in Houston, Texas regular travel to Lake Charles, Louisiana will be expected.

Actively participates in the implementation and administration of compensation programs, providing in-depth guidance and assistance regarding compensation programs
Provides technical and analytical support for a wide range of compensation projects designed to support business strategies
Analyzes market data to identify current trends and market movement, and makes recommendations based on insights and observations of the outcome of the analysis
Responsible for supporting variable pay programs within the Company, including short term incentive design and implementation, and long term incentive payments
Completes annual market analysis and recommends competitive merit budget and structure movement for upcoming fiscal year
Serves as primary contact for various compensation survey groups and third party compensation consultants
Prepares all data submissions to key compensation surveys and answers inquiries related to the submissions
Reviews and completes job evaluations on new and revised job descriptions and recommends appropriate salary grade assignments
Advises HR Business Partners and Recruiters on salary recommendations after thorough analysis of internal equity and external market competitiveness
Performs Exemption status review of new and existing U.S. jobs to ensure full compliance with the exemption provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
Pulls reports from SAP with employee detail and information needed for the annual merit planning process, long term incentive process and short term incentive process. Prepares reports as requested by Sasol Headquarters
Participates in the design and production of annual Total Compensation Statements for employees
Maintains knowledge of current compensation legislation in North America and supports the Company’s compliance
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned
Experience and/or Educations Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Business, Human Resources or related field with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in compensation analysis
CCP/GRP certification preferred (or work completed towards certification)
Chemical, Energy and/or Oil & Gas Industry experience a plus
Advanced knowledge of compensation principles and pay practices
Working knowledge of local, state and national laws and regulations pertaining to compensation programs, in particular, the Fair Labor Standards Act
Advanced Excel skills required
Experience completing salary surveys required
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Well organized with finely tuned attention to detail
Uncompromising integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment to produce results
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
Experience with HRIS/SAP system preferred
Experience with point factor job evaluation (Hay methodology) a plus
Adept at working with technology and learning new systems and technology as necessary
Must be a self-starter and able to work pro-actively, have the capacity to multi-task effectively in a fast paced work environment, and be able to follow through and complete tasks with minimal direction
Must be willing to travel between work sites on a regular basis and attend conferences and training as necessary
