The Compensation Analyst plays a key role within GHD’s Total Rewards Centre of Excellence. In this dynamic role, you will have the chance to showcase your deep compensation experience within North America, while acting as a subject matter expert (SME).
You will leverage your analytical skills and develop compensation compliance & equity programs and execute strategies; while collaborating with internal stakeholders: People Business Partners, Leaders, as well as the Talent Acquisition team.
Ideally, this position will be located in our Whitby, Ontario office. That said, we are open to all of our GTA offices (Markham & Mississauga).
Evaluates and analyzes compensation data to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness of the company’s compensation programs.
Support new hire or internal out of cycle compensation decision making by modelling required recommendations using internal and external data
Lead the participation in and analysis of compensation market data surveys ensuring integrity of submissions and provide recommendations based on results.
Monitors developments and trends in Compensation, identifies best practices, statutory changes, gaps in legislative compliance, and analyzes and reports on impacts, opportunities, and risks
Implements and administers compliance of formal Pay Equity programs in North America as legislatively required.
Leads the administration of the North American merit increase process, annual incentive programs and any related reporting and communications.
Provide input in the strategy and design of the company's compensation plans for North America through participation on the Global Remuneration Committee.
Provides technical advice and knowledge to others within the people discipline on compensation policies, programs, trends and issues.
Participates in development of communications and training to increase the understanding and awareness of compensation programs within the organization. Contributing to the creation and review of compensation communications and training materials
Builds strong, collaborative relationships with leaders, talent team, and People team.
A bachelor’s degree with a major in human resources or business-related field.
Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience as a human resources professional with exposure to compensation analysis and programs
CCP designation or in progress would be considered an asset
Experience in a larger corporate environment providing support to both Canada and the US
Strong understanding of compensation policies and practices, with ability to assist in working through questions or unique situations
Understanding of and/or experience in professional services firms
Strong numeric, data manipulation, spreadsheet, and analytical skills with excellent collaboration and communication skills
Works well in a constantly changing environment and within tight time constraint and able to methodically work through problems, set priorities and follow-through on commitments
