The Compensation Manager is responsible for the design, execution and management of System-wide compensation programs (base and variable pay). The Manager monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures and recommends program revisions/enhancements which are consistent with compensation trends and business needs and objectives. This position is also responsible for providing strategic compensation guidance to HR and Business leaders that helps influence compensation philosophy and initiatives within the Organization.
Provides thought leadership across the System on major compensation-related initiatives linking pay programs to overall compensation philosophy and business needs and objectives.
Consults with Leaders on pay decisions, compensation practices, and policy and guideline interpretation. Influences decision-making process and final outcomes by providing detailed analysis/models, innovative recommendations, and expert advice to management and HR Business Partners.
Leads various project teams such as compensation planning systems, budget planning, merger/acquisition integration, and/or performance management programs including leading the merit planning activity.
Educate/coach management regarding the Organization’s compensation philosophy, salary structure, market analysis, merit and bonus processes and works with HR Communications to develop key manager and employee messaging on compensation topics.
Provides supervision and oversight to assigned members of the compensation team to ensure development of staff and the delivery of high quality solutions for the Organization.
