Chevron Phillips Chemical seeks to fill a Compensation Representative position, located at our headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas. The position reports to the company’s Compensation Manager. The Compensation Representative is a member of a team that designs, delivers and administers compensation programs in 24 countries.
Essential Job Duties
The position is accountable for the full range of compensation processes including but not limited to:
Administers various compensation programs including survey submission and analysis, job evaluation, FLSA exemption reviews, internal equity reviews, promotion forecasting, executive compensation plans, total reward statements, variable incentive programs and salary increase programs
Conducts analyses required to ensure salary structures and compensation programs remain competitive and compliant with the company’s compensation philosophy. Makes recommendations accordingly.
Develops materials for management presentations including compensation committee meetings
Develops and delivers compensation related training and orientation materials
Delivers SME level consulting to HR Business Partners on a range of day-to-day compensation matters regarding compensation policies, practices, programs, philosophy and compliance requirements
May include both domestic and international travel up to 5%
Performs other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written, verbal and presentation)
Ability to understand business drivers and use relevant quantitative information to make decisions aligned to corporate strategy
Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and follow-through on commitments
Ability to interact and build positive relationships with employees at all levels, including executive management
Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify root cause and propose solutions
Ability to extract, combine and manipulate data from multiple sources into single document for analysis
Ability to work with minimal supervision and drive results
Ability to work on multiple projects and provide timely responses to inquiries
Ability to work on cross-functional teams
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field. Will consider a current “Certified Compensation Professional” (CCP) designation in lieu of degree.
10 years or more of Human Resources experience with at least 5 years in an exempt-level Corporate Compensation role focused on US compensation programs
Experience with and knowledge of US compensation laws/regulations, market analysis and pay structure design methodologies, variable compensation design and delivery are required.
A high level of expertise in HRIS utilization and ad hoc reporting required.
Significant expertise with Excel, Power Point and related tools.
Experience administering compensation programs on a global scale.
SAP HCM and/or SuccessFactors strongly preferred.
