The Regional Manager, Compensation Services provides leadership and direction necessary to ensure the provision of compensation services for NH, ensuring compliance with legislated requirements and consistency with collective agreements. The Manager takes a lead role in the development and implementation of related policies and procedures, works collaboratively with management and labour relations staff regarding job design and the development, analysis and classification of new and existing positions, and advises on salary/wage administration issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, plus seven (7) years direct experience in compensation, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. - Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Advanced knowledge of the principles and theory of compensation and job evaluation methodologies. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, internally and externally. - Ability to represent the interests of NH on compensation related matters. - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. - Ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to others including staff and managers. - Ability to make fair and consistent recommendations and decisions. - Ability to plan, organize, problem solve and prioritize work with multiple clients and deliver advice in a timely manner. - Ability to apply tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with others. - Ability to influence and persuade and negotiate consensus. - Well-developed analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills. - Ability to be customer service oriented. - Ability to use spreadsheet, word processing, and HRIS applications. - Ability to work effectively under pressure and with changing priorities and deadlines. - Knowledge of benefits management and administration.
