Nova Southeastern University is seeking a Director of Benefits to engage, support and reward our community of over 4,000 full and part-time employees. NSU is the leading member of a self-insured and administered health insurance consortium comprised of 26 universities, colleges and schools (ICUBA) that performs the data analytics, plan design, enrollment and contract bid/renewal services for NSU. Additionally, NSU enjoys strong relationships for leave management, retirement plan administration and ancillary benefits vendor partners. This arrangement permits the Director of Benefits to focus on innovation in benefit offerings, strategies to increase employee plan participation and engagement, employee wellness, and expansion of health education programming and communications.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the University's success by developing, communicating, and implementing employee benefit policies and programs that attract, motivate, and retain employees. Other job functions include (but are not limited to):
Administering employee insurance, pension and savings plans, working with insurance brokers and plan carriers.
Overseeing employee leave of absence management in compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and institutional policy. Analyzing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodation requests and making accommodation recommendations.
Developing strategic benefit programs and promotion of new ideas to further the strategy; establishing program benchmarks for success, as well as recommending changes and additions to programming.
Identifying sources of quantitative and qualitative health data; collecting and analyzing baseline and subsequent data to monitor program effectiveness.
Preparing benefits cost forecasts to project funding needs.
Performing multifactor data and cost analyses that may be used in areas such as introducing new benefits or revising existing plans.
Designing, evaluating and modifying benefits policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with legal requirements.
Researching employee benefit, health and safety practices and recommending changes or modifications to existing policies.
Assessing competitors' programs and potential partners or vendors.
Fostering employee appreciation of health and welfare benefits using various media and platforms, and delivery of educational programs.
Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, at least ten years of experience in administering group benefits programs, and at least three years in a people management role is required.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree with compensation experience, CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist), CBP (Certified Benefits Professional), PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification preferred.
