The Compensation Analyst utilizes skills and experience as a seasoned professional with a comprehensive understanding of compensation concepts and classification theory to resolve complex issues using a solutions-focused approach. The Compensation Analyst is responsible for job analyses, organizational studies, field audits, job specification development, pay plan preparation and administration, and related compensation functions. Work is performed with independence and latitude, and is subject to administrative review and approval of the Compensation Services Leader.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related degree; and/or equivalent experience/training.
Experience as operational level Compensation or Classification analyst or specialist.
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of compensation, job evaluation theory and practices, law and legislation.
Demonstrated skills and experience in working collaboratively with client groups and team members within other areas of human resources to complete multiple assignments and projects on time.
Demonstrated skills in utilizing a variety of software programs for data and information manipulation, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Human Capital Management systems.
Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills to conduct analysis and develop data-based recommendations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey findings and recommendations clearly and concisely.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to interface professionally with a wide range of customers (managers, employees, union representatives, and other HR professionals) to communicate facts, technical and complex information, conclusions and recommendations, and to collaborate on projects and programs.
Knowledge to develop and implement compensation programs for client group and understand how they and other initiatives may impact various areas of HR.
General knowledge of employment law and other areas of HR.
Compensation Professional (CCP) Certification.
Experience and skill utilizing PeopleAdmin, PeopleSoft or similar Human Resources Information Systems.
Experience working in higher-education, the healthcare industry, and unionized environment.
