Job Summary
As a Compensation Manager you will support, provide input, and lead the implementation of new compensation programs. You will lead the research, development and recommend enhancements to compensation policies and practices that support the growth of the organization. In this role you will partner with other HR professionals to support the business to achieve divisional objectives by providing sound and relevant compensation advice and recommendations to attract and retain key talent. This role report to the Sr. Director, Total Rewards.

What you will do:
Compensation Program Design & Management
- Ensures compensation programs are fair, competitive and legally compliant
- Implements, administers and communicates short- and long-term incentive compensation plans to all employees
- Responsible for the rollout and communication of incentive plan objectives and targets to employees, via grants and notices.
- Administers the annual salary review process for all employees, including pay mix, retention and bonus programs
- Partners with Marketing & Communications to review and update merit and incentive communication materials on an annual basis
- Responsible for ensuring that programs are administered in alignment with HOOPP's, and Board related policies and guidelines
- Develops in-depth analyses of financial impact of current and proposed compensation programs at the employee level
- Prepares complex analyses to support/recommend program changes, report compliance and support pay decisions
- Leads the annual budgeting process and forecasting analyses on a quarterly basis. Partners with other areas of HR to ensure employee data is current and relevant
- Works with external consultants providing compensation design, market data, and legal advice, and ensures results are tailored to HOOPP's needs
- Leads the design and maintenance of HR policies and procedures related to compensation
- Consults with, and provides recommendations to HR Partners and divisional leaders on compensation strategies that include and are not limited to; pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs that support divisional objectives
- Prepares and presents analyses, recommendations, and presentations to senior leaders, Executives, as required
- Supports HR Partners with salary recommendations and incentive calculations for existing employees and new hires
Job evaluation and market data
- Evaluates jobs using approved methodology, collaborating with HR Partners to ensure roles are valued fairly across HOOPP, with the aim of supporting leaders in executing strategy through a functional organization design
- Prepares pay recommendations based on job and organization design, market data, and internal equity
- Recommends salary increase budgets and changes to ranges
- Stays current on trends in compensation related to laws, market practice, and governance issues
- Leads the Annual Year-end compensation process
- Responsible for the technology platforms used to deliver the annual incentive award and salary review programs, including contributing to requirements, developing and prioritizing improvements, coordinating with IT, and testing and approving system changes
- Partners with internal HR partners to ensure HCM system supports compensation related activities
- Develops and rolls out the communication strategy, timelines and materials to senior management, HR colleagues and all other employees on a yearly basis
- Develops and facilitates compensation education and training programs
- Provides input for exceptions report for Board reporting on a quarterly basis
- Prepare analysis, recommendations and related materials to support CEO and Executive team yearly compensation
- Partners with HR Business Partners in the rollout of year-end related activities
- Leads the preparation of audit binder for external auditors, including reconciliations
Research and Market Research
- Works with other member of the Total Rewards team to ensure HOOPP's compensation policies are compliant with government regulations
- Maintains a pulse on industry, market and legal intelligence for trends in compensation
- Develops and maintains a professional relationship with peer pension plans regarding human resources issues, compensation
- Develops complex analysis of HOOPP's market positioning both organization-wide and at individual levels
- Recommends changes to salary structures and position movements to maintain HOOPP's desired competitive positioning
- Recommends annual salary increase budget
Board and Committee Reporting
- Supports the preparation of compensation-related Board and Committee materials
