This position is responsible for the ongoing management of global compensation programs, including executive compensation, variable pay programs and equity programs. At its core, this role will ensure Woodward's compensation programs drive strong alignment with our business objectives. The Compensation Programs Manager is primarily responsible for ownership of the market-based compensation programs for the entire Company. This includes both base/fixed pay and variable pay programs. This role will partner closely with business group HR leaders to ensure strong alignment between design and delivery of the respective programs. Additionally, this position will be responsible for ongoing continuous improvement of our processes and standard work relating to compensation programs.
Leads the enterprise-wide market pay process. Establishes, maintains and improves standards in the following areas: compensation surveys, position matching, data analysis, salary structure development, incumbent analysis, affordability rates and salary planning
Manages the administration of all broad-based and executive compensation programs, including salary planning, stock option grants, and performance-based compensation quarterly activity
Advances industry best practices regarding innovations to our broad-based and executive compensation plans and programs
Contributes to formulating and establishing the function's strategic plan, policies and operating procedures
Leads the annual market pricing process. Collaborates with external compensation consultants to ensure coordination of timely and accurate market data
Leads the enterprise-wide salary planning process. Ensures guidelines and tools lead to consistent and equitable pay treatment and promote a pay-for-performance culture
Key contributor to proxy executive compensation tables and CD&A; provides compensation related data and analysis as needed
Drives salary planning rate modeling for the enterprise-wide budget. Responsible for oversight and preparation of all budgeting related to compensation plans and programs
Leads the annual cadence of stock option grants and manages stock option administration in E*TRADE
Oversees and drives continuous improvement in the administration of the short- and long-term incentive programs
Supports and interfaces with the Global HR team to ensure overall understanding of compensation philosophy and strategy as well as role management/job code standardization
Liaises with finance and legal teams for executive compensation plan matters
Ensures appropriate and effective compensation auditing internal controls are in place and adhered to
Mentors compensation analysts in order to further develop subject matter expertise in executive compensation
Participates in and may lead global projects
Provides market pay compensation process training to Business Group HR and leaders as appropriate
May prepare and present information to the CEO, Executive Staff and Board of Directors
Develops strong relationships with our external business partners and consultants
Ability to demonstrate strong knowledge of market-based compensation systems, including both base and variable pay components
Demonstrated solid knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for broad-based and executive compensation plans, including 409A
Ability to exhibit solid ability in the areas of executive compensation analysis and plan administration

EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Finance or related field.
CCP/CEP, Certified Compensation Professional and/or Certified Equity Professional certifications highly desired.
2-5 years, Experience administering executive compensation and short- and long-term incentive plans and programs required.
5+ years, Minimum of five years' plan management experience in a corporate compensation department.
5+ years, Experience with presenting data and explaining technical compensation data.
