Sr Advisor Executive Compensation Products
Provides consultation services to co-op management and boards of directors to administer and increase participation in NRECA’s nonqualified deferred compensation program. This position interacts directly with C-suite executives, and HR professionals at member cooperatives to provide expert guidance on how nonqualified executive compensation plans can be used most effectively based on their related business/tax objectives. These plans include products to restore benefits restricted in qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans, performance incentive plans, and salary deferral plans. In addition, this position is accountable for enhancing the overall reputation of NRECA by providing extraordinary customer service to many of the most influential decision makers at our member cooperatives. Purpose and Mission • Manages an assigned region of co-ops, based on field representative territories, with the goal of providing effective servicing of existing relationships, as well as expanding the deferred compensation program. Provides services to all co-ops and participants across the nation. • Interprets the business goal of each customer (e.g., attract, retain, and/or reward executives or key personnel) and recommends an appropriate deferred compensation program (or combination of programs) that best suits the co-op’s business needs • Educates co-op management, boards of directors, and plan participants on the features and benefits of nonqualified deferred compensation plans • Prepares analyses and conducts presentations covering pension, 401(k) and executive compensation retirement products to NRECA leadership, relationship management, CEOs and Boards of Directors. • Designs, develops, and implements executive compensation and benefit restoration products to resolve business challenges facing our cooperative members with respect to attraction, retention and rewarding of executives and key employees. • Recommends strategies to manage an integrated qualified and nonqualified retirement product program geared toward cost-effective account administration and ease of use. • Ensures the accuracy and timely delivery of all reporting and communications related to NRECA’s deferred compensation programs. • Manages and coordinates the annual invoicing process, required actuarial reporting, and program data and statistics. • Works closely with the Director of Retirement Products, Manager of Executive Compensation Benefits, NRECA’s General Counsel’s Office (legal and compliance) and NRECA’s actuarial team to deliver high quality supplemental retirement programs to the membership. • Works with NRECA’s General Counsel (legal and compliance) to maintain and revise prototype plan documents, contract forms and other documents necessary for new implementations as well as changes being made by existing clients. • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the rules and regulations related to executive compensation benefit plans in order to provide the most current and accurate guidance to both the membership and NRECA staff. Remain current on related proposed and final statutory and regulatory changes. • Maintains all historical executive compensation data inaccurate and usable form. Review and update executive status changes. • Responsible for the proper security and disposal of any confidential information that he or she may possess in the course of performing this position’s job duties, in accordance with NRECA’s Personnel & Administrative Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies & Procedures Manuals. |
