Walsh is currently seeking a Senior Compensation Data Analyst to work at our Corporate Office in Chicago, Illinois.
The Senior Compensation Data Analyst will be responsible for the data analysis and administration of compensation programs to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness. This individual will be responsible for counseling all levels of managers on compensation-related topics.
Creates Excel worksheets of high complexity utilizing macros, if/then statements and vlook-ups to assist the compensation team in analyzing and reporting on compensation-related data. This includes data and worksheets utilized by Ownership and executives during salary review cycles.
Presents all Living Allowance, Auto Benefits and Project Bonus exceptions to the Compensation Committee in a concise manner and outlines possible courses of action for specific situations.
Consults with all levels of management and provides answers concerning compensation principles and best practices. Assists managers in defining jobs and creating job descriptions that reflect appropriate duties and qualifications.
Completes all annual salary survey submissions and analyzes survey results. Makes recommendations to Vice President of Compensation concerning salary range or salary grade modifications needed as a result of annual analysis.
Documents all current and future compensation-related processes and systems usage.
Evaluates jobs internally and market prices jobs to the external market by selecting the survey job that is the best fit. Includes interviewing managers to obtain information on jobs.
Meets with all levels of managers to determine business objectives. Develops and recommends compensation solutions, models and costs pay plans and develops communication plans.
Presents to all levels of management and Ownership. May develop compensation training programs.
5 years of experience in accounting, finance, human resources or related department and some work toward World@Work Compensation certification is a plus. Proven experience independently administrating programs and or processes. Proven Excel, PowerPoint and Word experience is needed. Experience with Access or other databases is required. CompAnalyst & Power BI experience is a plus. Excellent detail-orientation, analysis and communication skills. Ability to keep all information confidential.
