Our Story
Founder and President, Clarence Sutton, created CTS through his vision of improving the quality of life for children who have experienced unfortunate situations beyond their control. Clarence’s passion for fostering and restoring a child’s belief in his/her potential has continued to be a motivating factor in the agency's and staff's best practices.
CTSHealth addresses the needs of our clients, their natural support systems, and the community as a whole. We work together to instill hope and provide the necessary care for all participants through the treatment process. We are a group of experienced professionals offering the most effective, personalized approaches for your difficulties.
Our Treatment Approach
We incorporate the philosophical and clinical views of the Integrated Care Model, Person Centered Thinking, System of Care and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. With these approaches, we’re able to identify and increase the emotional, cognitive, social, and psychological functioning of our clients. We provide guidance, education, and skills to caregivers to become better equipped to assist individuals in their care. Our professional teams are committed to safeguarding the continuity of care through collaboration with all participants involved in assisting the client through the treatment process.
Company History
Founder and President, Clarence Sutton, created CTS through his vision of improving the quality of life for children who have experienced unfortunate situations that are beyond their control. The impetus for starting a foster care agency began with Clarence's own family upbringing. While growing up in Chicago, Illinois, his family fostered children who came from some of the most difficult situations in Chicago. His background reflects a diversity of experiences ranging from being a former state worker with (Willie M.) for At-Risk children, being a Texas Juvenile Probation Officer, to being a Law Enforcement Officer and Former NFL free agent.
Clarence’s passion for fostering and restoring a child’s belief in his/her potential has continued to be a motivating factor in the agency's and staff's best practices. Since 2006, CTS Health has provided foster care services in North Carolina serving more than 1000 children in need of out of home placements throughout western North Carolina. Realizing the need for quality out of home placement and adoption services in South Carolina, in November 2015, CTS Health applied for and was issued a foster care licensure in that state.
Our professional staff and trained foster parents are dedicated to their roles as child advocates. Their guiding light is the child’s best interests. A qualified team brings many years of education and experience in the child welfare field. We are committed to safeguarding the continuity of care through collaboration with all participants involved in the persons served treatment process.
Corey Sutton came on board in 2012 as Vice-President bringing with him strong business development experience and knowledge which played predominately in the emergence of Community Based Services in South Carolina. In the fall of 2014, our first office opened in Rock Hill, followed by Columbia, Sumter, Orangeburg, Gaffney and Myrtle Beach, all of which provide Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services, Community Support Adult Services, Out-Patient Therapy, and Targeted Case Management within the communities as well as In-School Services. We have also established programs at the Boys and Girls Club in Clover, South Carolina. In early 2017, CTS became certified to provide Medicaid Mental Health services in Chicago, Illinois as Chicago Therapeutic Services; and in the spring of 2017 we became a Medicaid enrolled provider of Community Based Services in Florida as Clearwater Therapeutic Services.
CTS Health, its subsidiaries/affiliates, are enrolled Medicaid providers offering services to beneficiaries in need of quality, continuity, professionalism, and experience from caring staff members providing mental health services to populations in need.
